Quorn St Bartholomew's National School, 1910
In the first part of last century, what we know today as primary schools kept children until they left school, as there was no state provision of secondary education. Some of these boys would have been leaving school shortly after this photograph was taken.
The teacher on the left is thought to be Mr Stanford and the adult on the right is Charles Adams (known as ‘Gaffer Adams’), headmaster of the junior school. This photograph was taken on the same day as Artefact 1881 and Artefact 1884.
