Quorn Hall students Christmas party, 1974

Elsie Bishop was born (as Elsie Lovett) in Quorn in 1912. She married her husband Roy in 1933 and they lived at 27 Nursery Lane.

Elsie was a cleaner and waitress at Quorn Hall and this photograph was taken at a Christmas party in the early 1970s, thought to be December 1974.

The only names we have so far are:

9 - Elsie Bishop
10 - Leighton Townsend
11 - Gary Rees

Elsie was widowed in 1957 when she was only 45. She continued to live on Nursery Lane, but in her later years she moved to Skegness to be near her eldest daughter. She died in 2015, just before her 103rd birthday.

Gary Rees was a student at Loughborough College of Education and Quorn Hall was his hall of residence. He remembers Elsie well and with fondness. He left Loughborough in 1977 and recalls that this was the year that Quorn Hall closed as halls of residence.

Does anyone know any more names?
