Quorn cigarette tin, early 1900s
This Quorn cigarette tin is very well worn and we think is a very rare find. Underneath the round picture on top of the tin (on the left), it says “Trade Mark”, but research cannot find a registered Quorn trademark relating specifically to cigarettes. The tin, which is 7 ¾ inches (17cm) long by 3 inches (7.5cm) wide and 1 ¾ inches (4cm) deep is thought to perhaps be a free gift from area sales representatives of Quorn Specialties Ltd to their customers in the early 1900s. Quorn Specialties Ltd was based at Knighton Fields Road in Leicester from the early part of the 1900s to about 1963, see artefact 2011
But does anyone know anything different? Can you help with any more information?
