This picture of the Coal Wharf on Soar Road in Quorn, was drawn in 1879 by local professional artist William E Cooke.
William and his large family lived at Brook House (where Hall Leys now is). He married Alice Moore from Quorn in the first quarter of 1872 and the 1891 census shows them living in Brook House, Quorn with their eleven children.
