Penfold - Halford wedding 1928

Loughborough Echo - 3rd August 1928

Yesterday morning, the wedding was celebrated at the Parish Church, Quorn, of Miss Mary Penfold, eldest child of Mr and Mrs F R Penfold of Nursery Lane, Quorn, and Mr Fred Halford, third son of Mr and the late Mrs William Halford, of The Lodge, Quorn Hall.

The bride, who wore a dress of cinnamon crepe-de-chine with a biscuit hat trimmed with the same material, was attended by her sisters, Misses Nellie and Dorothy Penfold, who wore frocks of blue crepe-de-chine and carried bouquets of sweet peas.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Harry Halford. The bride was given away by her father, Mr Frederick R Penfold. The ceremony was conducted by the vicar, the Rev. H H Rumsey, and the hymn, "Lead us Heavenly Father" was sung. Mr and Mrs Halford are well known in Church circles, Mrs Halford having been interested in the Sunday School and the Girls' Friendly Society, and Mr Halford being a sidesman. A large number of their friends assembled in the church to wish them well. The honeymoon is being spent at Brighton.
