Socialising in the 1970s with Rex Bloore

These photographs of people enjoying social evenings were taken in the early 1970s. The link between them is Rex Bloore who was a successful Quorn businessman, who ran a cigarette vending machine company and appears elsewhere on the museum site. He was well known in the village and amongst other things was a local councillor and a trustee of the Conservative Club on Station Road. It is likely that one or more of these photographs were taken at the Conservative Club.

Picture one was taken in 1974 or 1975. Left to right: Doris Green, ?, Gladys Prickett, ?, ?. All these ladies worked for Rex Bloore.

Picture two, left to right: Arthur Green (husband to Doris, they lived on Wood Lane), ?, Rex Bloore

Picture three was taken at one of Rex Bloore's parties. Left to right: Arthur Green, ?, ?, David Prickett, ?, ?.
