Quorn Gun Club - 1962

Loughborough Echo - August 31st 1962

The club held their open shoot on Saturday in Buddon Wood, Wood-lane, Quorn. It was attended by about 60 guns and about 100 spectators. Good weather prevailed and all spent an enjoyable afternoon and evening.

Shooting continued until 8pm. Five traps were in use throughout the event. The prizes were presented by the Chief Constable of Leicestershire and Rutland (Mr J A Taylor).

Prize-winners:- Main event, 15 birds: 1, Mr D Poli, of Leicester; 2, Mr K Raynes, of Kegworth. Driven partridge: 1, Mr D Carpenter, of Rothley; 2, Mr R Houghton.
Down the Line: 1, Mr W Goodger, of Birstall; 2, Mr M Webster, of Mountsorrel.

Special novice prize: Robert White, of Hinckley, aged 12, who shot eight out of 10 down the line.

The next event will be the last club shoot for the challenge cup presented by the Belgrave Gun Company, of Marfitt-street, Leicester.
