Children’s Ball - 1893

Loughborough Herald - 12th January 1893

The second annual children’s ball was held at the Village Hall on Wednesday, and was a great success, between sixty and seventy children assembling. Visitors’ tickets had been issued for the platform and gallery, and among those who availed themselves of the opportunity of seeing the ball were Mrs Farnham, Mrs Hole, Miss Trapp, Mrs James Wright, the Rev E Foord-Kelcey, Mrs Tyler (Loughborough), Mrs Paulson (Mountsorrel), Mr and Mrs Hayward, Mr and Mrs Hawkes Woodward, the Misses Smith, &c.

The arrangements for the amusement and enjoyment of the guests were admirably carried out under the direction of the following stewards: - Messrs O S Brown, James Bolesworth, G Cook, T Firr, W H Fewkes, James Wright, and George Wright. The programme consisted of games, dances, and an hour’s entertainment by Madame Lloyd’s Italian Choir. Refreshments in the ante-rooms were under the supervision of Mrs Inglesant and Mrs Brown. Mr J Addison Adcock’s band supplied the dance music.
