Matchbox from the Pig and Whistle Pub

The Pig and Whistle was a pub on Station Road in Quorn. It is now a residential house (no 60 Station Road).

This matchbox was produced in the 1960s or 70s. It says:

"Sue and Terry - Your Hosts at....
PIG AND WHISTLE QUORN 2398"

‘Sue and Terry’ would probably be amazed if they knew that one of their matchboxes was now on our museum website!

The Pig & Whistle closed in August 1972. Sue Sharpe has told the museum that the last night was a 21st party for a girl from Loughborough called Bronia Starosta. The landlord at this time is thought to have been called Doherty.
