Leicester Road floods in 1932
Marius Wright (1914 to 1980) was driving his Morgan through floods on Leicester Road in 1932. On the back is (left) his brother, Michael Wright and on the right is thought to be employee Jack Winterton.
The couple sitting in the doorway of their home on the left are Cyril and Rose Clarke of what was then 5 Leicester Road. This property has since been demolished. If you look carefully there is a lad hanging out of the window of no 5. This is seven year old Cyril Anthony Clarke (known as Tony), son of Cyril and Rose.
