Quorn British Legion fete - 1962

The annual effort organised by the men's and women's section of the Quorn British Legion proved to be highly successful, with gross receipts of nearly £112.
The event was staged on the Stafford Orchard. Prior to the official opening by Lady Oliver, the chief attraction, the Drums and Band of the 4th/5th Battalion of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment, paraded down the main streets of the village with the Legion colours at their head.
Lady Oliver was introduced by the men's chairman, Mr W J Bent Beardsley, whilst thanks were expressed to her by Miss L Facer, the ladies' president, and Mr A G Staines. A bouquet was presented to Lady Oliver by little Miss Wendy Robertshaw.
The many stalls did a busy trade, whilst the Band, with the permission of the Commanding Officer, Lt-Col S. A. Smith, gave several delightful musical interludes.
Skittles, darts and a treasure hunt proved popular, as did the annual balloon race, there already being reported that one has been located at Boston, in Lincolnshire, although to date this is not to compare with last year's winners that reached Germany.
The winners of the special competitions were: Mr "Oxo", of the "Pig and Whistle" (whiskey), Mr Morris of Leicester (chicken), Mr Mason (cigarettes), Mr Betcher (cake), Mrs J Smith (voucher), all of Quorn; Mr Sharpe, Sileby (half-hose), Mrs Briggs, Woodthorpe (nylons), A Prince, Loughborough (powder compact), Mrs Watson (pet rabbit), Mrs J Laundon (embroidered tea-set), Mr Heap (bottles of beer), Mr C H Mee (cake), and Mr W Armston (table cloth), all of Quorn.
The lady on the far right is thought to be Wendy Robertshaw's mother, Barbara Robertshaw. Can anyone confirm or provide any more names?
