Radio star at Quorn fete
Loughborough Echo - 8th May 1964
The annual spring fair staged on Saturday by Quorn Guide and Brownie parents. The committee raised £147, a record. This will greatly assist not only the Guide Troops and Brownie pack in the village but also their headquarters fund.
Held at Headquarters (Allen House), the fair was officially opened by Daphne Oxenford, of Listen with Mother and TV fame.
Quorn's new Queen Guide, Miss Margaret Tyson, presented her with a bouquet of orchids.
Mrs A Child and Mrs C Callaghan are chairman and secretary respectively of the committee.
Note: It is thought that the girl on the extreme left is Kathleen O'Neil and that the girl in dark jumper is Jackie Antill. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?
