Quorn Airman Missing - Fl. Sgt. Peter Dean
Loughborough Echo - 25th September 1942
Mr and Mrs Dean, 4 Forest-rd., Quorn, have received news that their son, Flight Sergt. Peter Dean is missing. He was educated at St Mary's Catholic School, Loughborough, and Quorn Grammar School. He joined the RAF in 1936.
Although only just 22, this young airman has made no less than 59 operational flights over Germany. Whilst reading a letter from their son saying he was leaving his squadron, having been granted a commission, his parents heard by phone that he was missing. He twice volunteered to take another airman's place and did not return the second time. He has a brother serving in the Forces
