Quorn man home from prison camp
Loughborough Echo 2nd November 1945
Victoria Street, Quorn’s smallest cul-de-sac, has for some days past been gay with flags, for Gunner Ernest Harris has come home to his mother after being a prisoner of war in Japan since the fall of Singapore.
He found his incarceration not too trying, though Red Cross parcels only came a few times, when they were shared by all. He looks thoroughly well now that he has come home.
Before the war he worked in the Leicester County Education Office.
