Funeral of John Pick - 1916

The funeral of Mr John Pick of Quorn, who died after a short illness on Tuesday last, took place at the Welford-road cemetery on Friday. The service, held in St Paul's United Methodist Chapel, was attended by a large congregation, and was in itself a marked tribute to the esteem in which the deceased gentleman was held.
The Rev Walter Leicester, assisted by the Rev Thomas Scowby, of Nottingham, officiated. The hymns sung were "Who fathoms the eternal thought," and "When the day of toil is done,". Mr H G Girdlestone presiding at the organ. Mr Pick, who leaves a widow and two sons to mourn his loss, was a member of the well-known firm of J Pick and Sons, fancy hosiery manufacturers, Leicester. He and his brother, Mr George Pick, having succeeded to the business established by their father, many years ago.
