Quorn Floods in 1939
Loughborough Echo - 27th January 1939
The recent snow and rain seem likely to bring about another flood, and by Thursday morning the War Memorial green was only a few inches above the river, which was still rising. An unusual little bit of flooding was seen on the Leicester-road, where the milestone just beyond the Gasworks was surrounded by water, due, presumably, to the blocking of the small stream which goes under the road in a culvert at that point.
