Rawlins Grammar School, founded in the 17th century, and for fifty years in existence in Quorn, understood to be the first co-educational school south of the Trent, is to become a girls' school next Sept.

During the transition, Mr W Jacques, MA., has accepted the post of headmaster in succession to Mr A Dalton Murray who leaves at the end of the year. Mr Jacques has been a teacher at the Rawlins Grammar School for over 20 years and assistant headmaster for the past six years. Mrs Jacques, formerly a mistress at the Rawlins Grammar School, is also well-known and popular in Quorn activities, and is the secretary to the Church Council.
