Funeral of Quorn signalman

Mr. Herbert S. Wardle, who died at 27 Farnham Street, Quorn last week at the age of 63, was employed by the L.N.E.R. for 30 years.

He came to Quorn from the L.M.S. as a porter in 1915 and later became a signalman. He served in the Great War and was a member of Quorn British Legion.

The funeral took place on Saturday at the Parish Church, Quorn, the Rev. W.E. Pilling officiating. The mourners were Mrs. Wardle (wife), Mr. and Mrs. Barber (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs. Holmes and Miss May Wardle (daughters). The bearers were Messers. C. Joiner, R. Langrish, J. Gamble and L. Sykes, of the British Legion.
